These flowers bear thorns

fooled by glorious colours

exuding cheerfulness

an inviting warmth

So bright it’s exciting

But have you tried

juggling balls of lightening

without getting burnt?

Rippling discourse

hateful whispers

what’s mine is yours

tangled roots competing for water

Head swells and grows

until all else is eclipsed

the success of others

banished to shadows

only they exist.
